L'oreal Skin Perfection Micellar Solution

The battle of the micellar waters / solutions is well and truly on. When it comes to make-up removal, these two definitely do it for me. I like to get the bulk of my make-up off before I give my skin a good, deep clean.  However, I needed to pick up some make-up remover because mine had run out so I grabbed the new L'oreal Skin Perfection Micellar Solution on a whim.
It claims to:

  • Dissolve make-up
  • Unclog pores and remove impurities
  • Tone and soothe skin
In terms of removing make-up it does a brilliant job (i don't use it on my eyes) and I find it definitely does remove the bulk of mine. However, when it comes to unclogging pores and toning the skin I'm not so sure.
Overall, this is a really good make-up remover, but I wouldn't use it as a cleanser. It's cheap, cheerful and does the job well.

Shu Uemura Eyelash Curlers

I'm a sucker for lashes. Big lashes. And after trying out at least twenty mascaras from drugstore to mainly high-end there isn't anything that seems to be doing it for me and my lashes. Whilst wandering around Covent Garden last week I stumbled across the Shu Uemura shop and ended up having a bit of a browse, as you do.

I'd never tried anything from Shu Uemura before and thought why not purchase something while I was there. I probably would of opted for an eyeshadow knowing me, but it was my friend Chloe that made me pick up the Shu Uemura eyelash curlers and she has the most ah-ma-zing eyelashes I've ever seen. seriously.

I've never been one for curling my eyelashes. I think I once owned a fairly decent pair but seem to have lost them in the depths of my ever-growing make-up collection. However, these ones have had a lot of 'hype' around them for a long time, and I can now say I'm totally on the 'Shu Uemura eyelash curlers are incredible' bandwagon too.

They're quick, easy to use and make a whole lot of difference. I mean, they are quite pricey for what they are. I think I picked up mine for £20.. but I'd much rather spend that on a pair that do their job properly and wont leave me with a black eye and missing lashes.

Girls.. go get 'em!

'Beige Babe'

Although I'm definitely an Essie girl at heart, they didn't really have a shade of brown that I felt was worth the purchase. I grabbed this on a bit of a whim and I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised at the results. Good colour pay off, good brush and good staying power? Rimmel are definitely onto a winner with this one!

I know brown is a bit of a 'blah' colour but the weather is still ridiculously drab, and although I've tried - I can't seem to get into any of the spring make-up trends yet, so we're sticking with autumn and winter shades for now.
ORANGE HAND ALERT. - That aside, I'm loving this colour, and I'll definitely be hitting up the Rimmel counter again really soon to hunt down some more colours.
Are there any that you recommend me checking out?

The Quick Cleanse

Whether it's after a night out or just genuinely down to complete exhaustion from a hectic day at work, there's always one thing that we dread - removing your make-up! Now, don't get me wrong, I love feeling fresh and getting rid of every last scrap of make-up that's been on my face during the day (or night..oops) but taking it all off is one of the banes of my life sometimes.

Despite the fact that you are supposed to give your skin a lovely deep clean morning and night, sometimes I just don't have the time - or energy, and that's where these two fabulous products come in handy.

The Clarins Water Comfort One Step Cleanser gently removes face makeup, and leaves your skin feeling fresh, smooth and ultra soft due to coconut, peach and moringa seed extracts. It literally smells good enough to eat! Now, I'm a lover of heavy eye make-up even on a day to day basis but I have to say that removing it was never an easy job. Left over bits of mascara that were literally attached to my eyelashes, specks of shimmer from eye shadow that just wouldn't budge - until I was introduced to the Clarins Instant Eye Make-Up Remover. It's a biphase lotion that you shake and then pour onto a cotton pad, hold over your eye for 15-20 seconds, wipe away and it's all gone! Extracts of cornflower, camomile and rose leave your eyes feeling refreshed and soothed, and help to condition and strengthen your lashes at the same time - it's a win win situation really!

The Instant Eye Make-Up Remover is a staple in my daily skincare routine, I honestly cannot go with out it, and the One Step Facial Cleanser does make taking off my make-up a lot easier, I can definitely see myself reaching for this when I'm on holiday!

So there it is, the quality Clarins quick cleanse duo. A must have.
